The U.S. Department of Justice recently released documents pertaining to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s controversial tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton amid the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
According to ijr.com:
However, the emails released are “highly redacted” and uninformative, according to Judicial Watch.
“It’s jaw-dropping that the Trump administration is blacking out key information about how the Obama Justice Department tried to spin Loretta Lynch’s scandalous meeting with Bill Clinton,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.
The redacted emails reportedly covered the Obama administration’s discussions on handling press inquiries on the Lynch-Clinton meeting.
Fox News has more details on the documents:
Judicial Watch says Peter Kadzik, then-assistant attorney general, was involved in handling the Justice Department’s response to media inquiries regarding the tarmac meeting at the time. But one email exchange shows a redacted response from him to an email with the subject line: “DRAFT: Statement/Talking Points” on June 28, 2016.
Another email shows then-director of the Justice Department Public Affairs Office Melanie Newman emailing with colleagues to “flag a story” about a “casual, unscheduled meeting between former President Bill Clinton and the AG.”
Fitton called on President Donald Trump to step in and order the “full and immediate release of these materials.”
