A man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl at an in-home daycare in Virginia several times in the fall has been arrested by the Fairfax County police.
The 40-year-old suspect, Oscar Perez Rangel, lived in the townhouse where his girlfriend operated the daycare, according to law enforcement. He was arrested on Friday.
The 12-year-old victim went to the daycare after school. In March, she told the school staff about the five sexual molestations that took place from October to December.
Rangel is charged with five counts of sex abuse and is being held without bond.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Rangel, a citizen of Mexico, was previously removed from the United States. Rangel also “has felony convictions for attempted robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and illegal re-entry after removal,” ICE says.
His girlfriend’s permit to operate a daycare for up to four children was revoked Monday.
