Micah Risner and his fiancee Nataleigh Schlette are just a regular Ohio couple planning for their impending nuptials. What nobody expected was the gruesome gag they pulled on Risner’s family that ultimately resulted in their arrest.
The duo have been charged with inducing panic after they allegedly staged a murder scene in their bathtub with ketchup and then texted friends and family as a “prank.”
According to DudeComedy.com:
According to a post on Risner’s Facebook page, he texted pictures, which showed Schlette lying in a bathtub covered in ketchup, along with a knife, to his sister who then showed his mother.
“Please help me! I really didn’t mean to. I don’t remember. We was arguing and I woke up to this,’ Risner sent to his sister, according to police.
His sister responded: ‘What the f*** is she dead Michah?? Answer me now!!’
Risner’s mother called police.
When the Sandusky Police Department showed up, they soon realized it was a hoax.
“It looked very real. It looked like someone had been murdered or could have been self-inflicted. You don’t know at the time, but if you look at the photo just getting it, it looks like a real crime scene incident,” Sandusky Police Chief John Orzech said, according to Fox8 News.
Even more disturbing, when the police arrived Schlette came downstairs with two children. Risner emerged from the basement and confirmed the whole scene was faked.
“The real me knows I could never hurt a woman,” Risner later wrote in a Facebook post. “My mother didn’t even try to call me or anything. She went straight to the cops.”
One can only imagine what the couple is planning for their wedding. Perhaps a Murder-Mystery dinner?
