Social media has become a hotbed of vile and depraved activity with teens and adults videoing themselves committing murder – as well as suicide – and other gruesome acts of violence.
A teenage girl in Brazil just added herself to the growing list of sadistic individuals committing crimes with nary a thought to their heinous actions or the consequences.
Vitoria Muller, 16, from Brazil, allegedly put her pet guinea pig into a microwave after being told to do so by some friends. She then took video footage of the horrific act.
According to Metro.UK.com:
The footage is distressing, but we must point out that the animal was seized by the authorities and taken to a vets. They said that it was not injured despite its ordeal.
Some people started tweeting #PunicaoParaVictoria – punishment for Vitoria – and the girl has since deleted her social media accounts.
Vitoria’s father took her to the authorities, where she was made to explain the reasons behind her cruelty and was forced to apologize for her “shameful behavior”.
Her father said on social networks that he had punished his daughter, saying: “My daughter was already punished for her bad behavior”, and adding: “The animal is fine and in the name of all my family we apologize. We all take care of animals in this house and we would never let something like this happen. We apologize again for all that happened.”
The authorities seized the animal and transferred it to a veterinary clinic to be seen to, but fortunately, the animal was not injured.
The disconnect between reality and the internet has clearly had a negative effect on the behavior of many who use the anonymity provided by social media to commit acts that they previously would never have imagined doing.
Do you think this teen should be punished be the law?
